Why we built this.
Both of us are really close to our grandfathers. Watching them get older, watching them navigate days that got quieter and quieter, that stayed with us. This app is partly something we wanted to give back to them.
We have seen what happens when someone loses their partner. The first few months are hard in a way that is difficult to describe. The house gets very quiet and the medicines do not always get taken.
We know a family where the grandparents live in Bengaluru and their son is in the US. He calls when he can. But there is always that gap, that not-knowing. He cannot always get on a flight. He just wants to know they are okay.
Sēva is a small thing. But we think small things matter. If someone's grandparent takes their tablet because of this app, if someone's parent feels a little less alone, that is enough for us. That is actually everything.
To give every grandparent a daily companion that loves them as much as their family does.
